Disney made these Surfing Penguins Popular. Surf’s Up would be an awesome summer birthday party idea. Take your party to the nearest water park or lake. Bring body boards for everyone.

Make your Surf’s Up party a FUN SPLASH DAY!
This is good if you have a very large yard. Before the party, go purchase a inflatable swimming pool, maybe a couple of those! A slip and slide, a fun water sprinkler and water guns! Set up each at a different station and after everyone arrives divide them up into to 3 or 4 teams, depending on how many are there. Put each team at a station and let them play for about 15-20 minutes per station.
Then after everyone has done all the activities, have free play! The kids will not want to go home! and you your child will have a party to remember forever. If you child has a winter birthday, then just make it a Start of Summer Party!

If you’re having a Surf’s Up party then you will definitely want to order the Surf’s Up party supplies. This theme is perfect for a pool party. Decorate around the pool with surf boards, tiki torches and bright colors. During the summer months many discount stores sell lots of Hawaiian or beach themed products that you can use to add to the decor.
Make sure you have a back up in case of inclement weather, though. You can also have a surf board decorating contest - instead of a surfing contest like on the movie. Cut out several peices of cardboard in the shape of surf boards and provide paint, markers, pens and pencils for your guests to decorate their own boards. Have several categories - perhaps enough categories so that no one gets left out if you have a small number of guests.

How about a penguin egg run.
Using a plastic egg, have the children out the egg between their knees. Before you start divide the children into teams. The first child, with the egg between his/her knees races to a plastic cone, goes around the cone and back to the next player in line. Then she/he gives the egg to that player and this continues until everyone is done.
The first team to finish will win, but if the egg is dropped the player must pick it up and put between the knees again and continue. It will be fun to see them walking in a funny way and keeping the egg secure. To make it more interesting, have a parent on each team. The kids will get a kick out of watching the grown up race with the egg.

A surf’s up party would be great for a summer party or birthday party. A fun activity would is to have get a small swimming pool and fill it with sand. Next, put 30 gold plastic coins in the sand plus add 6 real gold $1.00 coins. Bury all in the sand. Have the children take turns diggin in the sand. give each child 3 turns at first. If they find a real coin then they can stop playing to give all the kids a fair chance. After everyone has gone or either found a real coin. Let the others play until all is gone out of the sand or the real ones are gone. The kids will love digging for real money.

This game will be fun to play outside at your Surf’s Up party. Divide your guests evenly in teams.
Each team will have a bucket of water, a tablespoon and glass. The object is for the water to passed from the bucket to the glass using the tablespoon. It is a race to see which group can get it done first. Once you say Go, the first person runs to the bucket and scoops water up with the spoon and then runs back pours it into the glass, then passes the spoon to the next player. The team who fills the glass first, wins.

Instead of having a cake at your Surf’s Up party, try this yummy dessert.
You will need:
Graham cracker crumbs
vanilla puddings
cheerios
blue food coloring
clear plastic cups.
On the bottom of the cups put about 1/4 inch of graham cracker crumbs.
Make the pudding as directed on the box.
Put a small amount of blue coloring in the pudding to make look the color of ocean water.
Scoop the pudding into the cups over the graham crackers crumbs. Next, spread more of the crumbs on the top of the pudding. Sprinkle a few cheerios on top as your sea shells. You have made your very own beach in a cup.
