Your guests can go fishing at your sea life party! Before the party, cut out several fish shapes out of construction paper and then 1 shark shape, be sure the shark looks much different than the fish shapes, you may even want to cut the shark out in black paper. On each fish shape write things such as candy, rub on tatoos, plastic fish, pool games etc. On the shark you will write a much bigger prize such as a gift card or movie tickets. After you finished with them, hide them all over your house or backyard. Then when all the kids get to the party you can have them start searching for the fish. Once they find one they bring it to you to redeem and continue until all the fish are found. The goal is to find the shark for the big prize! If you have children of all ages, then let the smaller kids get a few minutes head start or have a designated area for them with a shark prize suitable for the ages.

The Sea Life party supplies would be great for a pool party! After the kids get there and have had a chance to swim and play for a while you can play fun pool games. The game “Sharks and Minnows” is fun for older kids who are confident swimmers. During this game, one person (perhaps the birthday boy or girl can go first) is the shark - they stand on the diving board, or side of the pool, with their back turned to the other swimmers. Everyone else is ocnsidered a minnow, and is in the pool, holding on to one side. The object is for the minnows to swim across to the other side of the pool without being caught by the shark. Once the shark hears, or suspects that the minnows are getting across they turn around and jump in to “catch” or “tag” whomever it is that is trying to get across. However, if a shark decides to turn around, they MUST jump in - during this time some of the minnows can swim across if they dare, during the confusion of the shark. The minnow that is finally tagged is then the next shark. Make sure sure everyone knows that they should be careful while playing this game - don’t let any of the sharks jump directly on top of any of the minnows!

Sea Life Party supplies are just the right touch for your pool party. A neat food to serve is Octopus Hot Dogs. This is really easy and the kids love them. Cut the bottom half of a hot dog a raw into 8 tentacles. Boil the hot dogs in water to cook. This will make the legs curl up. Server blue raspberry kool-aid and call it ocean water.

To go along with the Sea Life party theme, a cool party favor could be a live fish. Go to your local pet store and purchace gold fish. Have one setting in a small glass bowl at each childs place at the party table. Have each child name their fish and share with the other party guest just why they think their fish is the best.

A fun game to play at your sea life game is message in a bottle. Get a big sand box and several plastic soda pops bottles with the labels off. Put these messages:
1. Jump in a circle
2. Do 20 jumping jacks
3. Say the Alphabet 3 times
4. Count to 100
5. Sing Mary had a Little Lamb
6. Run around the yard
7. Say the pledge of Allegiance
8. Name everyone at the party
You could think of several fun activities to put in the bottles
Next, bury all the bottles in the sand.
Then, have each child take turn digging through the sand and once they find a bottle, they pull out the message, read it aloud and do whatever it says!

Make a sea in a jar. Here is what you will need:
baby food jars
water
blue food coloring
glycerin
masking tape
small sea shells
small plastic fish
Put the water in the baby food jar about 3/4 full. Then, put a few drops of the blue food coloring. Next add a teasoon of glycerin and some sea shells and a couple plastic fish. Seal th jar with the masking tape.
Once you shake the jar the sea shells and fish will float slowly through the water, making it look like your are looking through the ocean.

For a Sea Life party you can give out several inexpensive. Purchase pool toys from a dollar store - goggles, pool floaties, diving rings, etc. You can also collect a few of these items to give as prizes for games. If you’re having a pool party do several swimming races and give out the prizes.
