Part of the craze of Pokemon used to be buying and trading Pokemon cards. Each card featured another exotic character and their powers. The characters battled against each other to see who would be crowned victorious. If you’re having a Pokemon party why not have a contest?
During the party set out some blank paper and pencils in one area, then some thick blank cardstock and paint in another area. Let each guest create his own Pokemon character and decide what types of powers their creation will possess. After each has made a sketch, and is satisfied with their character let them make a final copy on the card stock, complete with bright paint. As they dry hang each character on a piece of poster board and display in the party area. Let each guest explain the coolest part of their character. As a group decide whose creature would win in a battle. Let each guest take their creation home with this as they leave.

Meowith loves coins, nice shiny ones. Before your party, shine up some quarters and gold dollar coins. Hide them though out the house and yard. After everyone arrives, then say GO and let the kids go hunt for the shiny coins. If you small children then let them go first a few minutes earlier to give them a fair chance and finding the money.

With children who are slightly older you can have a Pokemon balloon-battle. Let each child draw their own Pokemon character on a balloon that is already inflated. Tie the balloon to each child’s ankel with a string that is around 6 inches long. On your count let everyone race around the room trying to pop the other balloons, without using their hands. The last Pokemon to survive is the winner. In order to keep things clean make a rule that once a balloon has been popped that the owner need to pick up their pieces, and come to the sidelines to cheer on the reamining Pokemon players.
