The NBA playoffs usually create a ton of additional interest in professional basketball. Some folks think the regular season is extremely long and that the real NBA season begins in the post season.
That’s when the stars shine and NBA hits prime time television. That’s also when young boys and girls spend more time watching basketball and exhibiting a passion for the game.
So, if you kids are caught up in basketball and are having a birthday coming up any time soon, then you might order some of the NBA Party Supplies and throw them a basketball birthday party.

Have your very own basketball game at your NBA party. If you are a member of a gym, YMCA or a church that will let you rent the basketball court you can have a slam dunk party. When all the guests arrive play a game of follow the leader, have the birthday child shoot from a spot and if he makes it then the next person has to try from the same spot and so on. If you have enough people at the party you could have a friendly game but make it short so you can do lots of other stuff too. You could have races across the court too! The fun will be endless and everyone gets lots of exercise!

Another fun game for your NBA Party could be Chase the Dog. It’s an easy game and sure to bring a lot of laughs. Have each guest stick a bandana into their back pocket. This will look like a dogs tail. Have all the guest dribble their ball. While all the guests are dribbling thier basketball they must try to grab the other guests bandana. When the guest looses their tail they are out of the game. The last guest left is the winner.

For older children’s NBA party here are some fun things to do:
1. Have a friendly basketball tournament, have 2 players per team
2. Do basketball Trivia.. make sure the questions are somewhat easy or the kids may lose interest.
3. Match stats to the basketball player. Best way to do this is to write them all down and then have a list of players that go with the stats. Have everyone pick a name out of a hat and see if they can guess that player with his stats.
4. Have a basketball there for everyone to sign for the birthday child.
5. Have a free throw contest. Be sure and award the winner!
6. Finally, serve hot dogs, chips and soda.
You can pick some of all of these fun things to do at your NBA Party.

If your child’s birthday is during the summer and he loves the NBA, try having a water basketball tournament. Order the NBA party supplies, and find a pool - and you’re all set! Set up two basketball goals on either side of a pool and let the kids play their favorite game with a fun (wet) twist. After they are done with their game let them try out different basketball related games, like Knockout or HORSE. They’ll get a kick out of trying to use all their regular moves in slow motion in the water.
