Undersea adventure for your Little Mermaid.
Decorate in blues, teals and reds by using streamers and balloons. You will want your party area to look like it is under the water where Little Mermaid lives! Hang from the ceiling paper fishes and even have a bubble machine to create the true feeling of undersea. Place blue cellaphane around the area to look like water. Place sea shells on tables and the floor.
Finally, dress your little girl in the Little Mermaid costume so she will feel extra special!

Since you are having a Little Mermaid party, why not have a Sebastian Crab Walk Relay Race. Divide the party guest into two teams. Place a beach chair about 20 to 30 feet away from each team. On “go” the first guest on each team will walk, like a carb, on all fours belly side up to the beach chair. Then they will contiune walking like a crab around the chair and back to the next person in line. The team who does this the quickest wins.

If you decide to have a Little Mermaid party for your child, here is a fun game to play. You play it like a sack race but call it a Mermaid Race. Get pillow cases, king sizes and divide the children into even teams. Make sure you have lots of room for this because the kids will fall and you don’t want anyone getting hurt. Once you say go, the kids will hop with the pillow cases on their legs. Have a fish balloon at the end, they must circle the balloon and go to the next player. They put the pillow case on and do the same thing until everyone finishes. The kids will be very tired so then it will be a good time to eat the cake and drink the punch.

For your Little Mermaid Party make as stress free as possible and order the Little Mermaid party supplies.
Ariel’s Treasure is a great game to play. Ariel is enchanted by human related objects. Have the children help her find them. HId simple househould items around the party area. (forks, combs, spoons, bowls, toothbrushes, stapler etc.) Have the children work together to find all of the items. This is a good ice breaker game.

The Little Mermaid is a classic Disney movie for kids of all ages. If your daughter and her friends are a little older try having a Little Mermaid Trivia game. Divide everyone into teams and ask several questions about the movie:
What is the name of Ariel’s best friend, and what type of creature is he?
Who is in charge of watching Ariel?
Name all of King Triton’s daughters.
What does Scuttle call the pipe?
You can find more information online. And if there is a tie you can resort to the “Lightning Round” - play the scene from the movie where Ariel sings the song “Part of Their World” - but don’t say anything about what will happen. During this scene she sings about her underwater treasures, and swims around her cave full of all her findings. After the clip ask specific questions about the scene. The girls will be baffled at how little they paid attention! Ask questions like:
Name 7 different things that were on Ariel’s shelves, that she did not mention in her song.
How many different items does she mention specifically in her song?
How many times does she sing the phrase, “Part of their world.”
Watch the clip several times before this activity and make you own questions - they’ll love it!
