Cars Birthday Party
Ever since the animated movie Cars came out lots of parents find that their kids want to have a Cars Birthday Party. Below you will find some tips and suggestions for making your Cars party as enjoyable as possible.
Plan to send out Cars Birthday Party Invitations to guests about 3 weeks before your party is scheduled. Obviously, if you are sending out invitations 3 weeks early then you should start your party planning around 6 weeks in advance.
As you begin to decorate for your party you want to create a race track atmosphere. You can hang checkered flags around the house and party room to set the mood. You can also hang Cars Mylar Balloons all around the area where the kids will spend the most time.
Before your guests start arriving have sheets of paper with their names and a number on them. As they arrive at the door have someone announce their arrival yelling "Johnnie, driving car #12, has just entered the pit area". The kids will get a kick out of hearing their names announced and its a great way to break the ice.
Get a parent volunteer to man a face painting booth. They can have the kids line up and get Cars related items painted on their cheeks. You can also set up a Cars Tatoos Parlor where the kids can have their favorite temporary tattoos put on.
Play a version of Simon Says but call it Red Light, Green Light. You can do this with sheets of red and green paper instead of lights. Get the kids to perform an activity such as marching in place. Have them continue as long as there is a green light. When you flash the red light they need to stop. Kids not paying attention will learn quickly.

My little boy loved his Cars party. We had a family member make a Cars cake and it was so cool I didn’t want to cut into it! The kids loved eating the cake and getting their drinks in the Cars cups. All the kids received cars as their thank you gift for coming to the Cars party.

Why not have your own Cars Relay? After you have the whole house decorated with your Cars Pary Supplies, then the kids have their own Race. Gather together - cardboard boxes, paint, tape, aluminum foil. Divide the guests into teams. Cut off the top and bottom flaps of a cardboard box make sure to cut a handle hole in each door panel. Paint the cars to look like your child’s favorite Cars character. Use aluminum foil to make the grill and yellow paper for head lights.
When it’s time to race have a kid from each team step into the car. Ready, Set, Go!!!! The child races around designated track as fast as they can return and hand the car off to the next team member. Contiune until everyone has run the race. The team who finishes first wins!!!

With a great imagination you can have a super fun Cars Party. In your front yard, put checkered flags in your mailbox or on a stick in the grass, so that everyone will know where the party is. Upon arrival, take a picture of each child with your digital camera. Afte everyone has had thier picture taken, have someone or yourself, print off each picture. Cut the picture out and then put on a piece of cardboard with holes in it to put string thru. Next, put the child’s name on the cardboard and say “Pit Crew”. Give to each child to wear for the rest of the party. The kids will love the idea and enjou taking them home.

If your little racer is excited about his Cars birthday party then he’ll love the party supplies featured above. But having the decor won’t be enough for all the little speed demons - you’ll want to plan lots of activities!
As guests are arriving let them each make their very own car. Go to a store in town and ask if they have any boxes that they would have thrown away. Let the kids decorate a race car for themselves, and help them cut holes in the boxes so they can actually fit inside.
Then, you can turn you backyard into a racing zone! Get some stakes to drive into the ground from a hardward store and make several lanes running the length of your backyard using caution tape. Line the little racers across one end of the lanes, and let them race to see who can get to the finish line first!

I saw these Candy Race cars made and thought the would be a perfect party favor for a Hot Wheels party. Each car is made with a large pack of gum, for the car body, hershey miniture candy bars for the spoiler and headlights, and round hard candies for the tires. Make sure to use a low temp glue gun. Attach the tires to the sides of the pack of gum. Place one of the candy bars on the front for the headlights and one tilted on the back for the spoiler.

Since your guests are likely to all arrive at slightly different times, it’s a good idea to have an arrival activity. As guests come in lead them to an area where they can choose a picture of a different Cars character to decorate. Set out colored pencils, crayons, and markers and let each person color their favorite character from the movie. To the side, set up a black poster board that is decorated to look like a street or racetrack. Guests can race their cars around the track, or pretend to dricve them around the streets. Once everyone is there you can move to your next activity. Attach each car to the board and save it as a souvenir of the party for the birthday boy!
