Our kids just loved this party theme. One of their favorite parties was when a friend had a petting zoo bring some barnyard animals over to their house and set them up in a little pen. The kids just squealed and squealed. The plates and supplies in this party pack really was the icing on the cake.
I just noticed the first birthday version for both kids and babies and think those are great ideas too.

We contacted a petting zoo company this week because our soon to be 5 year old really likes animals. So we are looking at ordering Barnyard Celebration party supplies along with getting the folks to bring their petting zoo to the house for her birthday.
The company brings out a nice selection of bigger and small animals for the kids to play with. The biggest is a cow. They bring along rabbits, turtles and other animals. They set up a circular pen where they put the animals. We plan to have it in the front of the house so guests at our Barnyard birthday party are greeted by the animals.
With all of the different birthday themes available it seems like a good old fashioned barnyard celebration party will be perfect for us this year.

This party would be so fun for smaller kids. You can sing the Old MacDonald song and have each child pick which animal you will say next in the song. Continue singing until all the children have given you an animal to sing about.

Have a Barnyard Hoedown in your back yard. After ordering the Barnyard Celebration Party Supplies why not get some Checkd tablecloths and a few bales of hay. Make you own Big Red Barn out of cardboard boxes.
Instead of renting a flat bed trailer why not have a Wagon Hay. Fill a wagon or two with hay and le the kids pull each other around.

Why make up goodie bags, set up activities for the guest to receive their prizes. Have a toy search in a haystack. Hide small toys like little stuffed barnyard animals and other Barnyard themed toys. Don’t forget bobbing for apples. A duck pond is another great place to award guest.
Why not serve pigs in a blanket, chicken wings, devilled eggs and plenty of chips and goodies.

Another fun idea, if you have older kids, is to teach them how to square dance! You can look up dance steps and “calls” online. Teach them the basic steps, and how to listen for what the caller instructs them to do - then let them come up with their own moves. You’ll love seeing their creativity come to life, and they’ll love watching their instructions being followed out by all of their friends and family!

Got Milk? This is a fun game to play at your barnyard party, especially for younger children. Get 3 stuffed cows and 6 empty cans (be sure there are no sharp places on them) Divide your guests into 3 teams. Next, have an obstacle course made for each team. The object of the game is to get through the course walking on all fours, with the cans on your hands. Once they get to the end of the course, the child must pet the stuffed cow and yell “MOO” and then go back through the course to the next player. Keep this going until all team members have completed the course. The first team that finishes WINS!

A fun and tasty snack that you can do at your Barnyard party is to decorate Animal crackers. This can be the craft and snack part of the party. What you need to do is get several bowls of Animal crackers out on the table. Next, get regular store made icing separate into three or four bowls. Then, make each bowl of icing a different color. Get an assortment of sprinkles and other toppings to decorate the cookies! Make sure every child has a plastic knife and depending on the age of the children, an adult to help them. They can eat their own cookies or share them with friends. This will be a sure hit at your barnyard party!

This is a fun game that you can include the parents in. Before the party gather as many wheel barrels as you can find, by asking neighbors and friends. Then, go the a hardware store and buy some of the orange traffic cones. Sit up the cones around your yard and make a course. Have a parent push their child in the wheel barrel around the cones. Whichever parent/child team has the fastest time they will the wheel barrel race.

Play “Who am I” at your Barnyard party. Print several pictures of barnyard animals out on your computer or you can buy flash cards. Have the children all sit in a circle and you sit in the circle as well. Hold up the first card and then say “Who am I?” and the kids can all yell the name of the animal. You could even ask them what the animal says or you can see if they can spell it.
