When your child is learning about Sea Life in school, these placemats will be a great way to get them talking about what they’ve learned. And there’s no better place to talk, then around the dinner table. As a special dessert, or after school snack you can make Octopus Treats! The recipe is simple, and your child will love making them!
You will need:
2 chocolate cookies
Icing (the flavor is up to you)
8 (or 4 - cut in half) gummy worms
2 small candies (M&M’s or Skittles would be perfect)
Put the icing on one side of each of the chocolate cookies. For even more fun you can put a few drops of food coloring in the icing and change the color! On one cookie, after it is iced, place the gummy worms around the sides - these are the octopus’ legs. Once the legs are in place, press both cookies together - icing in the middle. Next, using the icing as “glue,” place the candies on top of your creature as eyes. You can also use a strip of icing to make a smiling mouth!
Make sure to take lots of pictures - chances are, your octopus won’t be the only one smiling!
